Complaints and claims

ECiencia is committed to addressing and resolving all complaints and appeals promptly and constructively. Depending on the nature and complexity of the complaint, the case will be reviewed by the editorial team and the staff of Editorial CECDA (Center for Scientific Studies and Academic Development), with decisions made in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Procedure for Submitting Complaints or Suggestions

To submit a complaint or suggestion to ECiencia, interested parties should write directly to the email address: info@cecda.org. All communications will be addressed within a period not exceeding thirty (30) business days. However, if the complaint is complex and requires additional time for investigation, the complainant will be informed of the extra time needed to complete the process.

Requirements for Filing a Complaint or Appeal

  • The complaint or appeal must be clear, specific, and include sufficient information demonstrating a potential violation of the journal’s editorial ethics statement.
  • It is advisable to attach any supporting documentation that serves as proof or evidence of the reported issue.

Complaints Beyond the Scope of the Journal

Complaints that fall outside ECiencia’s scope of responsibility—such as personal grievances against authors, editors, reviewers, or members of the editorial team—will be responded to with an explanation of why the complaint cannot be addressed by the journal. Likewise, the journal will not conduct investigations when complaints or appeals are submitted in an offensive, threatening, or defamatory manner.
